About our Society

Keshav Memorial Educational Society is committed to improving the quality of education and promoting the all-round development of students. The Society was established in 1940 by Vinayak Rao Vidyalankar in memory of his father, Justice Keshav Rao Koratkar, who served as a judge in the erstwhile Nizam State

The Society believes that a strong foundation in education, particularly during early childhood and the school years, is essential for a child’s overall growth. School education plays a crucial role in shaping a child’s knowledge, skills, values and personality, and provides the foundation for lifelong learning. Teachers play a central role in laying this foundation. A well-trained and competent teacher can better understand students’ needs, create effective learning experiences and support their scholastic and holistic development.

Therefore, quality teacher education and professional training are essential to improving classroom teaching and learning outcomes. Keeping this vision in mind, and recognising the emphasis placed by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 on strengthening teacher education, the Society supportsit and would like to start the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP).

The programme is an important step towards preparing capable, reflective and professionally trained teachers, and has the potential to contribute meaningfully to the transformation of the teacher education system in the country.
