OBJECTIVES
HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
Keshav Memorial Educational Society was established in the year 1940, by Pandit Vinayak Rao Vidhyalankar in memory of his father Sri. Justice Keshava Rao Koratkar, who was a judge of the Hyderabad High court, as part of the freedom movement with mandate to promote value based quality education.
The Governing council has, over the years include eminent personalities who have guided the Institution in the right direction.For Academic brilliance, professional competence, character formation, value consciousness, moral integrated spiritual development, self knowledge, self esteem, self confidence, courage, conviction, communication skills, linguistic ability, physical development are the perennial skills in higher education, Keshav Memorial Educational Society started Keshav Memorial Degree College in the year 1995 courses offered included B.Com[Gen], B.Com[Comp] at under graduate level.
Initially the department started with the strength of B.Com[Gen] 30, B.Com[Comp] 60.Since then the department has been functioning and flourishing.
The changing Individual and societal needs have inspired the institution to introduce a number of new combinations, in the year 2007 they introduced B.Com [Hons] and in the year 2012 B.Com [Comp. Application].
Now the department of commerce is glittering with the strength of 1400 plus students, with big fully furnished class rooms (with LED projectors) and well equipped computer laboratory. At present 19 faculty members are working for the department U.G. The department has a healthy student teacher Ratio 1:60. The faculties are well experienced and highly qualified. The faculties have been updating the knowledge by attending various National and International seminars and workshops.

The college implements curricula given by the parent University. The CBC'S has been introduced with effect from the academic year 2016 -2017 and as part of the same the college has offered the following courses.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DEPARTMENT
The Department has conducted A Two day National Seminar on “Contemporary Issues and Challenges in Finance, Marketing &Taxation” in collaboration with ICSSR, OU, Hyderabad On 23rd and 24th, January, 2018.
Vice president of India Sri.M.Venkaiah Naidu visited as chief guest to this National seminar and released Souvenir in the Inaugural session.
On 20th July, 2018, the papers and proceedings book with ISBN was released on college foundation day.
Every Year the department is conducting “Keshav vanijyam” by inviting various colleges to participate in various competitions like Business quiz, Commerce word Building, PPT, poster presentation, product making and promotion etc.
VISION
Department of commerce (UG) works towards the goal of continuous improvement, discovery and sharing knowledge with the students by providing them broad and value- based quality education.
The Department strives to transform the students into enlightened, spiritually inspired, emotionally balanced, self-reliant, morally upright, socially committed citizens of the country.
In order to give our students a much broader knowledge it is proposed to organize more guest lectures.
It is also proposed to conduct one day National seminar, symposia and state level FDP, workshop.
Propose to promote various other activities such as Entrepreneur Development cell, Consumer Club, Faculty Club, NSS and NCC.
In order to bring the weaker students on par with regular students proposed to conduct remedial classes.
The department of commerce also propose to start add on courses like Advanced Excel, Python and R, programming, Investment Banking, Power BI, Tally Prime etc. It is also proposed to visit Industrial visit to various Industrial estates and strengthening more placement cell.
