OBJECTIVES

The College Management has observed that student community was obtained for Statistics as a subject across various colleges of twin cities. Looking to start new courses in the management convinced that the M.S.Cs. combination would add new dimension to the science course with statistics. Thus the Management of Keshav Memorial Institute of Commerce and Sciences has started M.S.Cs. course with the combination as statistics resulting the birth of Department of Statistics in the college. Hence the Department of Statistics was established in the year 1998 with a vision of promoting the study of statistics among student.

VISION

The Department consists of faculty who are research oriented, intelligent and outspoken. The department believes in the idea that the vibrant academic environment is nurtured by highly motivated faculty, an opportunity to pursue research in front line areas of basics statistics-viz, Probability , Statistical inferences as well as interdisciplinary areas of science where multivariate data analysis is required to handled by the aid of Computers. The ambition of the department of Statistics is to provide exciting academic learning facilities not only at Under graduate level but also at Postgraduate/Ph.D. levels through dedicated teaching,ideas to create a stimulating classroom environment and attractive social atmospheres through choice based credit system provided by Osmania University followed by Keshav Memorial Institute of Commerce and Sciences.

MISSION

The mission of the department is to provide excellent training in scientific data collection, data management, methods and procedures of data analysis. The philosophy is to concentrate learning and trainingactivities on the part of probabilistic reasoning. This philosophy equips our students with that all employers consider desirable.
