HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT
From 1995 the Department began functioning. We provide intensive mentoring to our students both in and beyond the classroom. From 2015-16 Department started offering the certificate course in English.

Introduction
The Department has made significant strides as a Centre of academic excellence. The department offers not only communicative skills but also soft skills. it has a strong footing laid by the faculty members starting with Prof. Sharmila, Asst Prof. Madhuri, Asst Prof. Uma Devi. The department members play a vital role in making the pupil compete with challenging demands of employability.

English Department Future Plans
- It is important for teachers & students to actively contribute their services to the society and do their best for society.
For this, we propose to Organizing programs for imparting to them the importance of effective communication and educational values. - Good education is about learning how to be self-disciplined without any restrain, watching or monitoring. For this personality development workshops/counselling shall be organized frequently for students. To equip our learners with employability skills, the focus shall be on organizing workshops for skill development.
- The Department with the help of management plans to introduce PG courses in arts.
Mission
Teaching language through literature and help students to become inquisitive in becoming proficient users of language. Helping students to develop a deeper understanding of language, critical reading, effective writing and fostering a healthy and positive cultural growth
