OBJECTIVES
The objectives of teaching mathematics typically aim to achieve a broad range of educational goals. Equip students with a solid understanding of fundamental mathematical concepts, theories, and techniques. This includes algebra, calculus, geometry, statistics, and discrete mathematics. ToDevelop students’ ability to think critically and analytically. Mathematics encourages problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and the capacity to analyze complex situations and data. This includes using mathematical models and methods in fields such as engineering, economics, science, and technology.
Mathematics is foundational in many fields, so understanding its applications in areas like physics, computer science, biology, and social sciences is crucial. This involves understanding statistical methods, probability, and data interpretation. These objectives ensure that students not only gain technical proficiency but also develop a broad set of skills that are valuable in both academic and professional contexts.
VISION
- The Mathematical Sciences Department offers a broad and challenging academic programs that supports the mission to provide high quality education in under graduate mathematics and different physical sciences, meeting the needs of a diverse student body to make them more distinct wizards in mathematics and related sciences.
- The overall objective in teaching mathematics is to develop, in each and every student an understanding and love of mathematics that lasts a lifetime and evolves to meet changing demands.
- To lay strong foundation in mathematics at the under graduate level.
- To enhance analytical and computational skills of students.
- To groom students to become responsible citizens serving the nation as academicians, IT professionals and government officials.
MISSION
- The department of mathematics provides MSCs, MPCs and MPC courses.
- Curriculum provides instructional practices that support effective student learning.
- The goal of these programs of study is to equip all of our students with conceptual understanding, computational skills and persistent disposition required to use quantitative reasoning and analysis effectively in their personal and professional lives.
- The dedicated faculty of the department are actively involved in teaching ,research and mentoring, contributing to the vibrant academic ambience at the college. The department provides the best possible facilities to students in the form of computer facilities with mathematics and library facilities.
