Mathematicians seek and use patterns to formulate new conjectures they resolve the truth or falsity of conjectures by mathematical proof. When mathematical structures are good models of real phenomena, then mathematical reasoning can provide insight or predictions about nature. Mathematics is essential in many fields, including natural science, engineering, medicine, finance and the social sciences. Applied mathematics has led to entirely new mathematical disciplines, such as statistics and game theory.

The department of Mathematics was established in 1995 at Undergraduate Level (UG) . Initially the department started with the strength of 25. Since then the department has been functioning and flourishing now with a strength of(639) students, with (12) big fully furnished class rooms . At present 4 faculty members are working for the department.

The B.Sc Mathematics course is in the English medium since its inception. The department has a healthy student teacher ratio of 1:160. The faculty is well experienced and highly qualified. The faculty has been kind and working on their skills and engrossing their knowledge by attending various National, International Conference and Workshops.
